Skadis holder for standard sized (220mm x 120mm x 75mm) glove dispenser boxes.

Slightly overengineered to aid in easy, reliable, and rapid repositioning to fit different workspace needs.

This model requires M2.5 heat-set inserts, M2.5 screws, and printed hooks for mounting and M3 heat-set inserts and M3 screws for assembly.

Required Parts

  • Printed hooks
    • See linked project for more details
  • M2.5 heat-set inserts (x8, for mounting)
  • M2.5 screws (x8, for mounting)
  • M3 heat-set inserts (x10, for assembly)
  • M3 screws (x10, for assembly)
    • McMaster Carr 91290A115 (10mm, $9.54, 100 pcs)
      • These fancy black-oxide hex-socket screws fit perfectly flush in the front panel and look great, however any 10mm M3 screws with a head diameter smaller than 5.75mm should work fine

Design/Assembly Notes

This project requires printing of four parts, in addition to the hooks mentioned above:

  • Base Left
  • Base Right
  • Plate Left
  • Plate Right

When assembling, the front plates are likely to be 2-4mm from the risers they screw into. This is by design, since there can be some variability in the actual depth of the cardboard box itself. Chamfers are included in various positions to allow for cardboard box size variations and flexing as well. The result should be a snug, solid fit when assembly is complete.

The tradeoff for this snug fit is that swapping a box out can be a bit of a pain, requiring disassembly and reassembly.

Printing Notes

For printing any heat-set insert project on a FFF/FDM printer its a good idea to use 4+ perimeters to make sure that there's enough surface for the inserts to bite into.

My test and final prints were done on a stock Prusa MINI+ with Prusament PETG. PLA and other materials should work fine though.

File Notes

An unfortunate Fusion 360 crash resulted in the loss of the source file data, so no STEP, STL, or F3Z source files are available for this project.

I like to provide those with all of my projects to make printing or remixing as easy as possible but, alas, the stars weren't aligned for this one. Sorry about that! :(
