This is a thin wall wedge for testing the Arachne slicing scheme.

It has a 100mm long by 2mm high tapering wedge from 2mm to 0mm, and will show:

  • The measured length of the printed wedge shows how thin that thin walls can be printed. (PrusaSlicer's min_feature_size)
  • The thickness at the thin end shows the minimum perimeter width (PS's min_bead_width)
  • The length to the start of the constant thickness section shows the (PS's min_bead_width)
  • Discontinuities in the wedge show where Arachne switches to multiple perimeters.

Shown above is a 200m long by 10mm tall by 2mm wedge.  At 200x2, each mm of length corresponds to 0.01mm planned thickness.  Measuring the thickness vs length would show how Arachne handles decreasing wall thickness.   This print measures only 185mm long because walls smaller than 25% of the 0.6mm nozzle diameter are not printed (see PrusaSlicer:Print Settings/Advanced/min_feature_size).  You can see where Arachne switched between 0,1,2 and 3 perimeters to make the tapered wall.

The samples also work like a handy toothpick or swizzle-stick.
