I’ve had an external HD connected to my upright PS5 for a while, and it’s always bothered me how precarious the connection was - it either had to be sitting on the floor, or draped over the top. As you know, if the HD disconnects while the unit is on, it can result in significant data corruption.
As a solution, I designed a simple cage that holds the HD & hooks onto the top ridge of the PS5 side plate keeping the drive safe and in place.
I included 2 designs, I prefer the V3, but V2 may give more breathability. I also tried printing in a few different filaments, but landed on the Prusa Galaxy Black.
To print, I painted on supports under the two arms which worked well.
The hard drive I use is the “WD 4TB My Passport (WDBPKJ0040BBK-WESN)“ https://amzn.to/3Coyl5a
