Printed this for a white elephant gift exchange- it took so much time and looks so cool I kinda don’t want to give it away :) it looks amazing!!! (edited)

Amazing model—the movements are hypnotizing!

I printed it with PLA, and the process was easy. There's a little bit of noise when rotating the crank, but I believe it's because I didn't print the lower gears slowly enough. Maybe I need to apply some grease. Otherwise, it's a very cool model and interesting for children.

It's a pity, but I couldn't print the entirely glass-like central part (DomeUnder). I followed the guide—it took a long time to print (8 hours). The top ring with holes is transparent and clear as glass, but the tower isn't. I think I needed to cut it into parts and change the infill for the tower part to concentric.

I suggest printing the GearsBase part with PETG or even nylon (if your Dome isn't transparent), because I broke one pin when I was trying to put the gears in place, so I reprinted it with PETG.

No other issues. Thanks.

Made this with a red blue yellow tri extrusion filament, I can get the brand if anyone wants it. I foolishly didn't had the part on the inside of the handle to keep it in place.

@caperDoodle_378365 Made this with a red-blue-yellow tri-extrusion filament—looks amazing! Forgetting the "CrankLock.stl" is actually a pretty common mistake, as it’s an easy part to overlook. The good news is, it can be added at any time, even after assembly. Just turn the model upside down, unscrew the bottom lid, and remove the larger gear. Then, you can insert the part. Make sure to align the axle so that you can see the two slots for the lock piece. A flathead screwdriver can help push the lock into place. Honestly, that’s the hardest part in my opinion! 😅 The assembly video shows how to do this right at the beginning.

Thanks again for sharing—your model looks great!

I don't think the cogs need to be from the jellyfish color, they're not visible

All in all a really nice build!

Nice model! Will paint it later

This was so much fun to make. Doing it from a phone was really tough but I am amazed at how well it turned out. I bought FF 5M a week ago and this was my first ever 3d print (besides the cube you start with). I used a couple of remixes for the handle, SpongeBob spots and the little hat. I did have some issues with the dome but that was about it, glad the hat could cover up the mishap! The photos do not do this silk filament justice!

I also found that these colors and hat made it look like the super fast jellyfish from the Gorillaz! It'd be cool to make a dome for it with that same goofy face. The spots really helped with that. (edited)

Translucent color for the jellyfish body add a nice effect.

Birthday gift for my dad, he liked it a lot
