Cool design! Easy to print and assemble.

Beautiful mechanism! I should have used 100% infill for the pegs to make them sturdier but a little super glue did the job.
3D Printed Seiko Magic Lever, A Genius Mechanism

Neat idea, prints very fast and it works!
Printed with default settings, using White/Silver/Gray/Black eSUN PLA+.
The only thing I would modify is that the magic lever retainer to clip on the input gear, in this way it will not fall easily.
Edit: The photo is before I cleaned up the filament hairs..

These are super cool! I scaled the original down a bunch and it works just as well. Thanks for sharing!
It's so mesmerizing to watch as it's so counter-intuitive. Great design! Some problems I encountered was that I had to reprint the "magic lever retainer," as the diameter was not great enough, and I had to superglue the axis of the smaller gear, as it snapped right off with the slightest amount of tension (could just be the bad layer adhesion of my silk PLA though; I printed in Inland Rainbow-1 PLA). But after that it worked perfectly.
Thanks so much and have a great day!!
Very fun to print and put together and then play with these mechanisms. So many smart people in the world :)
I’d like to print both the Magic Lever model and the traditional automatic winding model shown in your YT video. Is that latter one also available? They’d make good demonstration pieces for my classroom.
Amazing design to print.
This video will help you to see the function & assembly of this model. https://youtu.be/Eb1OhCucrjM (edited)
