The A5 is a pretty good printer afterall.

A lot of good points and of course some not so good.

For me the first one one is the stiffness of the Z grantry. That's less than what we can find on a CR10 or a Tevo tornado and other clones by far.

So the aim of this design is to increase the Z gantry stiffness to reduce as possible layer offset / shifting.

What you need:

  • Some 3d printed parts of course.
  • A piece of plywood 630 x 540mm.
  • 4 x 540mm M8 threated rod.
  • 16 x M8 nuts.
  • 12 x M8 washer.
  • A bunch wood screw.

You have to add 2 extra holes on the grantry to secure the upper bracket.

OK some trouble with the spool holder now, very difficult to remove the spool by now.

I'm going to fix that by designing a spool holder with a removable axis
