The G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel Shifter clamp's surface is not very long and the ribbed pattern does not keep the shifter locked in place during use. My modification extends the surface, which is great for people with angled front surfaces of their desks, and keeps the surface flat, so that a strip of self-adhesive silicone can keep the shifter fixed in place. To remove the stock clamps, use a 10 mm hex socket to remove the lower-most nut. Once this is off, you can loosen the top tightening knob, until the clamp is fully unthreaded. Simply press the nuts into the new part, and thread it back into the assembly after the silicone sheet is in place.

I have modified the clamps for the G29 Wheel and added anti-slip plates to the pedals as well; if you are interested, here are links to those files:

Files and Hardware:

Supports are built-in. Simply remove them with a pair of pliers, or even easier, push a screwdriver through the opposite end, and the support piece should fall out.  The file is uploaded in STEP format, should you want to modify or extend this clamp surface further.

The silicone pad measures: 65 * 14.4 * 2 mm (L*W*H).

Self-adhesive silicone sheet (2mm): https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B071CGN92T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Printing:

All parts print great with the standard Prusa Slicer “0.20 mm QUALITY” profile settings and no supports! I used a 0.6 mm nozzle, but any other size will be fine.

Nozzle: 0.6 mm

Layer Height: 0.2 mm

Supports: None

Perimeters: 4

Infill: 15%
