A big THANK YOU to everyone who liked and downloaded! I hope you’re all very happy with your boxes. Super exciting to have won a contest with this.
This is a 7.5" cubed hinged box for wedding cards. The two flaps come down to form a gap between them for dropping cards into and provide an easy way to remove them later. Originally designed and printed for my brother- and sister-in-laws' wedding. My in-laws have large family weddings, so this thing got a real stress test and held tons of cards with ease. The flaps were tied down in ribbons in the colors of the wedding party.
Orientation is correct for best printing. No supports required, though depending on your printer's bridging capabilities, you might want some on the hinges. Brim recommended on hinge pieces and enclosure recommended for the base piece to prevent corners warping and making assembly difficult. You will have to turn off skirt and brim for the base piece, as it completely fills out the bed edge-to-edge, but you will be able to have a skirt or a brim of up to 5mm on the side and top panels.
A PDF with assembly instructions and a 15min print tab test to perfect tolerances are included with the files. For the hinges, you can either use a piece of filament (which actually works pretty great, just cut flush with the hinges) or a metal rod 1.6-1.8mm in diameter and 200mm in length.
Print two side pieces, one back piece, one base piece, and choose your and your partner's set of honorifics for the front piece. Colors pictured are CC3D silk white and TTY3D metallic rainbow.
