Put this on your pegboard where you will need it. It presents the marker so that you can easily grab it. Pull the marker straight out if you want the cap with it. If your peg board vibrates, you can store the marker twisted to keep it from bouncing out.
Twist the marker to the right before pulling in order to have the cap stay in the holder. This allows you to work with one hand, because you are holding the item to be marked in your other hand. It also encourages you to put the marker back at the same time, since the cap is there.
Having one marker in the right place beats a jar-full across the room. It also beats putting grimy pen caps in your mouth and writing on your face when putting the cap back on.
A more simple variation for wire brushes is included.
9/29/22: added another version with slightly larger pegs and a little larger pen retaining tongue. Peg fit can also be adjusted in the slicer with XY compensation parameter. My peg board is old and I have multiple printers, so I actually use the slightly different diameters.
7/5/23: updated the cap retention tongue to make it sharper and more print friendly.
01/26/26: found the slotted pegs a little weak in my old holders as I moved them, so I made them with a thinner but longer slot. "onePenPegPoint1"
