There are seven models in this collection. Each is 150mm / 6" tall. Scaling them to 50% creates a decent bud vase.

For receptions and gatherings, these can be set out on each table as a centerpiece or personal bud vase, with the intent of guests taking them home as a keepsake at the end of the event.

The models are solid, so you'll need to alter your slicer settings to create a hollow vase. The can be done by either:

  1. using spiral vase mode and adding 3 or 4 solid layers on the bottom, or…
  2. setting infill to 0%, number of perimeters to 1, 2 or 3 (depending on how sturdy you need them), and setting 0 solid layers on top

While spiral vase mode will give you a smoother profile, increasing the number of perimeters will create a more durable vase.

In the cover photo, the left vase is printed in rainbow silk PLA, the right is red-yellow-blue coextruded silk PLA, and the center (scaled to 50%) is white PLA with metallic accents added to the base and rim.

The seven models are:

  • hexagonal cross-section spiral
  • hexagonal cross-section spiral, curved profile
  • octagonal cross-section spiral
