Update! There are 3 versions of the file.

  1. hybridv3_8.stl - This version (pictured) uses 6 posts that work with a US 3 hole punch to adhere a clear shield to the visor. Simply punch once, then offset the next set of holes by an inch.
  2. covid19_headband_rc2_us_3posts_wideheadband.stl - This version uses 3 posts to adhere a clear shield to the visor with a single US 3-hole punch. It still features a wide area along the headband for comfort.
  3. covid19_headband_rc2_us_fastprint_3posts_slimhead.stl - This version features 3 posts to adhere a clear shield to the visor with a single US 3-hole punch. It is 1.2mm thinner than the other two versions and doesn't have a wide headband. This means it will print faster, will use less material, and if you know how to configure it correctly in your slicer, can be printed stacked (may need supports).

This is a narrow version of the RC_3 face shield from Prusa. It will print on a 190mm circular delta printer bed (ie a Kossel) or a 200mm print bed for a normal x/y cartesian printer. It uses posts that are punched with a North American 3 hole punch (4.25inches spaced on center). Simply punch with a 3 hole punch, then slide the shield material over an inch and punch again. The visor still utilizes the buttonhole elastic to secure the shield to the head. It is also only 6.2mm tall accept for the area around the forehead to speed up printing times and save on materials. At 60mm/second it will print in around an hour (and could be optimized to print even faster).
