Mounting Bracket/Case for Big Tree Tech U2C and Mellow UTOC Can Bus Boards

I made this model so I can mount a BTT u2C to my klipperized Anycubic Chiron.   This will work with just about anything, though.  I now have it installed on the Chiron, a modified VzBot, a ratrig Vcore 3.1, and a Voron 2.4.

It uses 2 screws in the back to mount to any extrusion, or you can attach it to a panel with VHB tape.  The STL files are already rotated to position.  If you choose to use the strain relief it is limited to less than 8mm diameter cable.

--The top cover labeled U2C is for the U2C 1.0, 2.0 and mellow UTOC-1

--The top cover labeled UTOC is for the U2C 1.1, 2.1 and mellow UTOC-3 with the large dual USB jack.

10 QTY-M3x5mmODx4mmL heat set inserts, as used on voron builds (8 if not using strain relief)

2QTY- M3x10mm BHCS for strain relief

4QTY-M3x25mm BHCS or SHCS for top cover.

4QTY-M3x12mm BHCS or SHCS for mounting the U2C to the case. (use 3 screws if you need clearance for wires for the 12-24v input terminal)

2 QTY-M3x10mmL SHCS and 2020 drop in T-nuts or roll in nuts for mounting to the extrusion

The case must be mounted to the extrusion before securing the U2C.  

If you want to mount this to DIN rails use the din mounts from the voron Trident build and secure with m2x10 self tapping screws.  It can use 2 clips to mount parallel or 1 clip to mount perpendicular to the rails.

Printing instructions:


Print  with .2mm layer height and .4 nozzle, 3 perimeters 40% infill.   STL files should already be in the correct orientation.

Successfully tested DIN mount version.

I found that sacrificial layers were more trouble than they were worth.  I removed them and also removed previous versions that did not accept a DIN mount so I have less files to manage. Increased heat set insert depth to 4.2mm to make it easier for them to sit flush.  Also added in an STL for the VORON DIN mount for convenience.  I did not design the VORON DIN mount it was created by the Voron team and comes from the trident github, I'm only including it here to save you time from downloading elsewhere.

     --Added “crossbridge” feature on counterbore to allow printing without supports.

     --slightly decreased hole size to allow crossbridge feature

--Top Cover:

   --Added in versions of the top cover that works with U2C 1.1, U2C 2.1 and UTOC-3 with the large dual USB block

   --Added in version of the cover that has a hexagon pattern

   --Increased thickness of top cover and decreased width of slots for strength
