This tool allows you to wind up the excess strap material when using ratchet straps. It's convenient for use on a trailer or on a moving vehicle so that the excess straps aren't blowing in the wind. See the screenshot of the assembled model to get an idea of how it all goes together. The snap-on clip will need to be installed onto the winding part before you actually wrap up the excess strap. Then once all the excess is wrapped around you fit the cylinder from the base part into the hole in the winder and push it together until the snap fit piece clamps around the base. It only works in one orientation so you might need to spin the winder 180 degrees for it to actually snap together.
I made it for 1 inch (25mm) wide straps that I have but it can work for any strap up to 1.25in (31mm). The little slot in the C-shaped part is to feed the end of the strap into to make it easier to wind up.
PRINTING TIPS: See the last screenshot for print orientation. Two of the three parts unfortunately will need supports but the third doesn't need them if your cooling is adequate for 60deg overhangs. I wanted mine to be pretty strong so I printed in PETG 0.2mm layer height with 5 perimeters and 5 walls for top and bottom.
