This is a mount to attach a Lenovo Tab M8 to an IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard. It uses the Skadis T-Nuts for a very secure hold and easy installation. It's sturdy and there's no wobble. The fit is tight. Don't be afraid to press pretty hard until it snaps in place.

Read more about the Skadis T-Nuts Mounting System and check out the Skadis T-Nuts Collection for more Skadis accessories that use T-Nuts.

There are separate STL files for Gen 2 and Gen 3.

Printing

  • Material: PETG (slight flex, good for installation)
  • Extrusion width: 0.45mm
  • Layer height: 0.2mm
  • Perimeters: 4
  • Infill: 0%
  • Solid top / bottom layers: 4

Mounting Options

You can use two mounts and place them wide apart. You will have to install the tablet slightly offset because the rear camera is in the way.

You can also place the mounts narrowly. Pay attention to the power and volume buttons. The left mount has to be between the buttons.

If you don't want to interact with the tablet (no touching) you can also use a single mount in the middle.

Assembly

  1. Push the M2.5 hex nuts into the T-Nuts
  2. Stick the M2.5 screws through the holes in the printed mount
  3. Screw the T-Nuts onto the M2.5 screws until the distance between the bottom of the mount and the T-Nut is about 2mm
  4. Orient the T-Nuts vertically
  5. Stick the assembly through the holes on the Skadis pegboard in the desired configuration. The part should self-align.
  6. Tighten the screws but do not over-tighten.

Install the Display

  1. Place the lower edge of the tablet in the lower hooks of the mounts and make sure it's well seated.
  2. Firmly push the upper edge of the tablet into the upper hooks of the mount until it securely clips in. Pay attention to the rear camera if you use wide mount placement or the power and volume buttons when using a narrow configuration!
You might have to push quite a bit as it's a tight fit. The PETG should have enough flex if printed using the above instructions and will not snap.
