This is an exhaust chute diverter for a Dewalt Miter Saw, and it can work for other saws as well as long as the chute's OD (outer diameter) is 39mm.

Notes on Usage:

  1. Print 2x 40deg elbows and and 1x 40deg fan-out (no vacuum required)
  2. If you want to use a vacuum attachment, print 2-3x 40deg elbows and connect a vacuum hose to it.
  3. You can rotate the attachment angle of each elbow to direct it where you want.

Fanning out the sawdust is to help prevent clogging the chute.

Why did I do this?

I love my Dewalt Miter Saw and have used it for 15+ years on many projects. But I've always disliked how the sawdust spits out the exhaust chute and make a mess of the wall behind it or spray someone walking by.  I don't have a dedicated work space to set up a vacuum system (and often work in restricted spaces). I've tried a number of different things over the years to better control the mess of the sawdust, but none have stuck with me.

However, since I got my 3D printer, now I can just create my own solution. ;-)

Printing notes:

  1. PETG or ABS is tougher and are better fits for this application (I used ABS).
