The FIAT 500 is notorious for having the outside trunk release switch stuck. In order to repair it, you need to remove the inner lining of the trunk. To do that, you need to pull the original pins out, which typically breaks a few of them. I would assume that repair shops have them on stock and simply use new ones. For us hobbyists, the easiest is to print these replacements.
These parts are relatively easy to print. Just print them in the uploaded orientation with 100% infill. Ideally use 3 perimeters, but it does not really matter that much. No supports are needed. I recommend PETG due to it's flexibility.
I do admit that this part is a challenge for Bowden printers like the Prusa Mini, due to the many retracts. You may get a somewhat stringy and unclear print results on the little side hooks. But since these are buried inside the trunk and only the head is visible after installation, that is actually not a problem. Printed on the Prusa i3 Mk3S, the part came out basically flawless.
In the picture with the two mounting pins, the left one is the original pin, the right one is my replacement design. The only optical flaw on the new one is the fact that it has to have some flat surface in order to make it printable. But I would say if you don't know the original pins, you will likely never notice that the replacement parts are homemade.
Your satisfaction is my reward. I appreciate your makes, your feedback and comments, and your likes.
Happy printing!
