Attach an Ikea SKADIS pegboard to the side of an Ikea BROR shelf.

Compatibility

The 3-hole variants should work for any SKADIS/BROR size combinations as long as the SKADIS board is wide enough. I've tested the 3-hole model using a square SKADIS pegboard on the sides of the deep BROR shelf, and a skinny SKADIS on the sides of a shallow BROR shelf.

Pick a Mount

There are two mount types. One for attaching the pegboard flush to the shelf using just an M5 screw, and one that provides clearance for an M5 nut or screw head between the pegboard and shelf leg for extra secure mounting. If using the latter or if there will be a lot of weight on your SKADIS then I recommend printing 4 mounts.

Update: I've added a 3-hole variant of each mount type. I recommend using this one as it is more versatile, and should not be any weaker than the 2-hole variant. It is necessary to accommodate the 55cm deep BROR shelf.

Print it

You need to print at least two, but ideally four mounts. I've found 4 perimeters and 20% infill to provide plenty of strength for my needs, but feel free to experiment.

Install it

Slide each mount over a BROR shelf mounting point. The slot in the mount will help you align it to the screw hole in the shelf.

Attach each mount to the BROR's shelf mount points using one M5 screw from the inside of the shelf:

  • Flush mount: 1x M5x8 per mount
  • Nut: 1x M5x12 screw and 1x M5 nut. The M5 nut goes on the outside of the shelf, between SKADIS and the BROR shelf frame.

Attach the SKADIS to each mount by insert screw(s) from the SKADIS side:

  • Flush mount: 1-2 M5x16 screw(s). Use M5x20 if you wish to secure the screw with a nut.
  • Nut: 1-2x M5x24 screw(s). M5x20 screws may also work depending on your print tolerances.

NOTE: To use a SKADIS on the side of a 55cm deep BROR shelf, the spacing is such that you must use the center hole in the mount(s) on one post, and outer hole(s) on mounts on the opposite post.
