Filament Dryer from Food Dehydrator
When I finally needed a filament dryer, I could not find the models listed in other projects for an affordable price, or at all, in the US. As of September 2022, one of the cheaper food dehydrators on Amazon US is the Elite Gourmet EFD319 which meets the bare minimum requirements for drying filament.
However, I did not want to chop one or more trays apart to fit a 1kg spool, so I made this spacer.
Print 4 of these parts and slide them together. The ring can then be placed inside the tray, keying off the expansion stand-offs to help make everything sit solidly. The fit is meant to be snug, but not so tight that the part could not be removed with a firm tug. Glue is not needed unless you really just want to join the ring parts together permanently.
Using PETG has been fine for me, but using the highest temp material you deal with will of course be the best option.
Update 10/1/2023: Based on comments, I have uploaded a step file that has a full ring made so people can more easily print the whole thing at once on large printers.
