This is a cable junction box for LGB garden railway. The mounting points fit the standard straight track. The design is inspired by the switchdrive chassis and my custom replacements for those.
Other related models:
- Switchdrive bottom chassis
- Switchdrive lid
The junction box comes in 3 sizes, each with different lid variants: plain, stripes, “Test” text, and electro warning marking. The text and markings use the same technique for manual color change as described in the switchdrive lid (see there for detailed print instructions).
The bigger boxes are meant to fit WAGO cable clamps. The lid is secured via 4 2.2x6.5mm screws (the same screws that the LGB switchdrive lids use).
If other variants and/or sizes are needed, then look into the SCAD file. It should be self-explanatory (I hope).
The SCAD file references the library af-basics.scad which can be found here: https://www.printables.com/model/175914-openscad-library-for-more-basic-shapes
The parts are printed in PETG with 0.3mm layer height and 3 perimeters. I lowered the nozzle temp to 220°C after the first layer to reduce stringing. I advice to NOT use PLA because it might (will) deform in direct sunlight.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
