I printed this model twice and tried a couple different techniques for lighting. I tried the thicker "neon" rgb strips but they didn't product a bright enough lighting effect. Then I tried some regular LED rgb strips but still didn't think it was bright enough during the daytime. Lastly I did 3 loops per ring of rgb LED strips and mounted it on a white foam board. Appreciate the design and for sharing it with others!

Damn! Yours looks better than mine! Glad you got it to work. I haven’t tried it on this design but I’ve recently been using COB LEDs and they are amazing. Instead of visible individual LEDs, it’s a smooth strip that lights up. Has the same ability to be tailored and cut and programmed as typical addressable LEDs.

Nice didn’t go that well with the led strip

villum, the only way i could get the LED strip to work correctly with that tight of radius is use one that had the metal backing (not the fluffy 3M tape). To add to the security of the assembly I used hot clue to keep it in place. Took a bit of fiddling but it worked and has continued to work since I've printed it.

Whats the length of the led’es and whicht one do you use

@villum_1229862
Length is irrelevant as they can be cut at the designated points along the strip. Any WS2818 individually addressable LEDs will work. I have since ran across what is called COB led strips. They have a lot more LEDs per linear distance and provide an extremely smooth gradient. I used a strip similar to the linked below and cut to length:

Thank you for taking the time to create this and for sharing it. I appreciate it! Going to make a scaled up one of these for the garage, cheers!

@labemolon_235858 not a problem! I’m glad it can be useful! Just about any car profile can be made into something like this. Takes a little bit of time to design but when it’s on the wall and lit up, it’s well worth it. Enjoy.
