this is a remix with

  1. multiple options for the strap (we have shortages here on elastic), this version supports: the original RC2 buttonhole elastic, elastic straps, headbands, swim goggle straps, tourniquets, exercise band strips, bungee cords

  2. the front band is lowered for speed and material saving

  3. health care professionals using these would like you to include a information to help them with disinfection, this strap is marked "PETG" to help with that (versions with blank and "PLA" also included)

  4. I use 3M PP2200 overhead transparencies (polyester, 0.1mm/4mil) and a 3-hole punch that has adjustable hole locations set to the original RC2 shield hole pattern. Punch, flip, punch again. The laser cut originals should also work--same hole pattern.

  5. My transparencies "cloud up" when cleaned with IPA but appear to be usable. Transparencies look fine after bleach (sodium hypochlorite solution) solution. PETG bands are OK

3/29 UPDATE

  1. A clip-on shield to cover the top is provided. It does not interfere with fit (flexing) and it should work on any band.

  2. The opposite left hand side has space for the health care professionals name to be written in the situation where reuse is necessitated.

  3. (5) assembled shields stack into a 2.5 gallon zip-lock bag. Date the bag and include information on the construction materials.

4/18 UPDATE
added a buckle that lets you use 12.5mm (1/2") flat elastic. I'm including a superfast plate based on CNC Kitchen video "FASTER 3D printing of face shields"

Print instructions

0% fill works fine, 3 perimeters, PETG (preferred), no brim, no supports, DRAFT 0.3mm, 4 top/3 bottom layers

(removing fill saves around 22min)

this upload has a blank, a PETG, and a PLA version, be sure to match the right one to your material to help downstream users choose a sanitizing process

plate this with the original bottom stiffener or an improved one to get one set
