This is the fast printing headband design being used by the Project Face Sheild NZ. This design also uses 6mm wide rubber bands as a readily available and replaceable 'elastic' strap.

Bottom reninforcement strip only needed if using visor material thicker than 0.5mm. Recommend 0.25mm PETG for visors.

Designed to be attached by 6mm wide size #64 rubber bands.

  • Much faster printing than Prusa RC3 version.
  • Forehead band is thinner, more flexible & comfortable
  • Band around head and for mounting visor is reduced from
    20mm to 15mm .
  • Uses same hole spacing as Prusa visors.

Version PFS7 is designed for attachment with readily available rubber bands

Remixed from Prusa Protective Face Shield - RC3
Thanks Prusa for the orignial design and initiative!

Print instructions

Prints fast and beautifully.

For cleaner printing place bottom piece above head band and set your slicer to avoid crossing perimeters.

Remember to sand inside of head band with 180 grit sand paper as people will be wearing these for 8 hours at a time and comfort is important.

If printing with 0.4 mm nozzle:
Must use 3 vertical shells (stronger and faster to print)
30% infill. (20% is too weak)
0.3 mm layer height
PETG preferably

Visor cutting instructions

Laser cut the sheet
Leave protective film on.
Most people are using 0.25 mm PETG visors
