Hi!
This is a repository of .stl files and an assembly manual for the “BMV2-V2” (Birdbrain Membrane engine Version 2 - V2) pressurized gas engine. A video showing off the engine and some of its performance figures can be found on Youtube. Generally though, the engine is not some marvel of engineering that out-performs all the other 3d printed pressure engines out there… but it is also not the worst. Especially nice property of the engine is that by choosing a good flywheel setup and membrane material, the design is technically even capable of running on human breath.
Unfortunately, the engine is not 100% 3d printable, as it does require some small components that are not easily 3d-printable (like a fair number of bolts and nuts). The details for said components can be found in the assembly manual, which can be found in bmv2-v2_manual.zip under "files".
The manual also contains some more general details about the engine, tools needed, as well as the steps to assemble it… obviously. The build is not too difficult, but to say it is trivial would be selling it short. So be prepared to spend a fair amount of time (full day to print the parts and some hours for assembly) on this project, if you wish to replicate it.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
