My space in our lab fridge is a mess – many times i had to move out all the tubes in order to get the only one that I was looking for. They were lying flat, stacking on top of each other. So I designed this tube holder. This helps me to organise my lab space better.
The holder should hold 12 x 50ml tubes adn 6 x 15ml tubes. they are quite closely packed but still easy to access.
During my prototyping, I found out that the piece is quite large and could requite a lot of material and printing time. This is why the holder requires special print settings:
print the model upside-down
perimeter: 1 or 2
solid layers: top-0, bottom-2
infill:0%
Infill/Perimeters overlap (in Advanced) 60% ← this is not necessary but improve the quality drastically
You should see the print turns out link the attached screenshot. I used 0.3mm draft seting and got ~3 hours per print.
The print setting also brings the benefit of being stackable. You can print a bunch and stack them in your lab supply stock.
