is the fit for the M3 pivot thru hole on the latch supposed to be very tight? (like so tight I would probably be threading the plastic getting it though) The M3 counterbored hole on the hook is a very nice fit but the latch is very tight. Just wanted to check if it was supposed to be like that before drilling it out to the right size. (edited)

I must be an imbecile because all these other people figured it out but I’m not understanding where the other end of the spring goes? I see the hole for one end on the hook but what about the other end?

Also what is the leaf for? I don’t see it in any photos (edited)

@nwpulverizer_213074 I didn't have to use a spring in mine at all despite it being noted.

Printed them to use for my grocery bags. Bags are a vinyl material. Added corrugated plastic sheets cut to size for the inside of the bag, punched holes for the screws. Corrugated plastic sheet also cut to size for the bottom of the bag to have some support. No spring/wire used on mine, only the paracord. Very happy with the result. Clips were quite snug, but that's a good thing.

Made them for my friend, brilliant design! (edited)

I printed a set of the 11mm version to install into a lightly-modified cat litter bucket for carrying unwieldy stuff on my bike via an Ibera Touring Carrier rack close to two years ago now, and it has been super handy.

These prints are cheap Hatchbox PLA, and I've hung >35lbs from them on several occasions with no trouble.

The model is a little fiddly to clean the support from and assemble (DO NOT push the latch in until you are ready for final assembly! It's not coming back out.) I re-wound some springs I had on hand with roughly the suggested 0.6mm wire size for the spring and it seems to work, and pulled "stainless" hardware from my various cheap internet assortments for the rest; everything seems to fit as labeled in the model description.

I use a bungee rather than a hook to retain the bottoms, because of the taper of the bucket and the flexible walls I found it was hard to get a good fit with a hook, and the bungee helps more with slap.

Modding buckets to work with these is pretty straightforward, a few slices into the top ribs with a razor blade to fit the hook bases, a few 5mm drilled holes to mount the hooks, and then a few more razor cuts to fix anywhere your particular rack interferes with the ribs so it sits flat. If you care, getting sublimated labels off those Tidy-Cat buckets is also a hassle, they're immune to any solvent I'm willing to try, and melt into sand paper; flat-scraping with a razor blade works "OK".

I've just added another set to another bucket so I can balance loads, it's hard to imagine a better price:performance than recycled buckets, a few cents of filament, and some common hardware. (edited)

Wonderful hook, worked perfectly for my homemade Panniers

I upgraded my cabin baggage with this! I make business trips with the train ... and the German Railway service states that this is 100% green energy. Sadly I had to use the car to get there. Maybe with this I can make my business trips even greener :-) Now the little local train I have to use to get to the highspeed railway is the only Diesel-Punk part of that journeys.

Prints nicely. Finding a suitable spring material took me some time but it works nicely. (edited)

Maybe just burn it until the glob bigger than the hole lol

@SamT_287074 yes. I used a ligher and some cold metal to form a nice round glob

I modeled some backing plates for the parts and used them to attach some Wald baskets to my OMM Divide rack. Great design!

This 3D model is genuinely amazing with PETG. It’s criminal that this isn’t more popular
