Here my little HiFi project.

I must say that I am very satisfied about this.

I started this Project to recycle some components that I had, but I didn't imagine it would become so satisfying.

It consists of a Raspberry pi 3 b, 7" lcd, HiFiBerry as amplifier and two 4ohm full-range elements as speakers.

For the software I installed Volumio because the interface is very clean and it's easy to set up.

Printed entirely on Anycubic i3 Mega.

For the white elements I used a Sunlu PLA+ which sanded has a matte finish and pleasant soft touch.

For black I used ALFAOMNIA by Filoalfa,it's a PETG loaded with carbon fiber, the print come out with zero post production.

Many hours of printing and some design problem, but overall is not bad and also sounds good.

PROJECT DETAILS

ATTENTION: this is first prototype and I made it using some old recycled part (LCD, LCD board, etc) so you may need to make some adjustment before print it. Inside the main console there is a lot of room but it is hard to set everything from the rear access.

I apology for the absence of a assembly guide but I hope it's enough intuitive.

MATERIAL

For the speaker an main console I used a Sunlu PLA+. I sand it after the print.

To be faster I printed it with only one perimeter but I recommend to set minimum two, maybe three. In may case the console body is a little translucent and you can see the infill geometry.

Designing all the parts I try to avoid to use support. In 90% of the print you don't need it but please check yourself for some.

For the black frame I used a PETG loaded with carbon fiber from Filoalfa. I used it because of the matte finishing. I love it. For printing this kind of material you need a iron nozzle. No support needed.

For the knob bay same filament of the frame but this time you need support.

Inside the speaker there is an o-ring, I printed it with medium/hard TPU

ELECTRONICS

About the wiring check the PDF file with schematics.

The brain of the system is the Raspberry PI 3 Model B Raspberry PI 3 Model B

For drive the speaker I choose to use the HiFi Berry AMP2. It is plug and play and work great. Remember this board power up also the Raspberry so you don't need 5v supply. HiFi Berry AMP2 module

7" LCD. I used a old board used some years ago in another project. Is not a touch screen. If you want to use a touch screen will be OK but check the size before you buy. 7 inch 1024 x 600 HDMI Screen LCD Display with Driver Board Monitor

Power supply. According with HiFiBerry guidelines I used a 18v power supply. 48w of this model should be OK 18v power supply

The main power button is a 16MM Latching Push button Switch. It light up when pushed HiLetgo 16MM Latching Pushbutton Switch

LM2596 DC-DC 1.23-30 regulator. I used it to power the 12v LCD board and push button led. Remember to set the correct output voltage using the potentiometer. 12v voltage regulator

Power connector. I used a XT60 power connector, very solid XT60 Battery Connector

HARDWARE

Speaker to main console joint. It's a peace of pipe long 45mm and diameter 15mm. Honestly I used a printer linear bearing. Super recycling!

Soundproofing fabric. Is it used to line the inside of the speaker body. It's a kind of recycled felt Soundproofing fabric felt

SOFTWARE

I try many platform but Volumio was the easiest and cleanest.

Just go https://volumio.org/ and follow the installation guide. Once the OS is installed I added the touch screen plugin to enable the LCD. I also installed the Rotary Encoder plugin to menage the knob
