This item is not intended to be a "print and ready" one, it is just for inspiration.

Feel free to download the various parts for this build for your own small table saw.

The table saw was built using:

  • Various custom made 3d printed parts (duh..)
  • some scrap wood
  • some pieces of 15x15mm aluminium rod (for fence)
  • an old Pfaff sewing machine motor (80W, 6000RPM)
  • a AC motor speed controller
  • 2 GT2 pulleys and a GT2 belt loop
  • M8 threaded rod and aluminium rod for the blade height adjustment
  • A 10mm rod as blade axle and 2 10mm bearings (pic says skate bearing = not correct!)
  • 80mm cutting blade with 10mm hole
  • some other misc. things and pieces..

It was a bit tricky to get the maximum cutting height out of this setup.

The blade only measures 8cm and the top is 18mm thick.

I thried to "thin out" the bearing blocks as much as possible and also

routed out some parts of the top lid where the axle/bearing blocks would hit

I managed to get 15mm maximum cutting heigth, pretty good :-)

The fence is a joy to operate, the handle clamps when pushed down, loosens when

pulled up again.

To get is exactly square with the blade, i drilled one of the mounting holes of the

sliding bar (on which the cm are displayed) slighty bigger. This little movement should

be enough to square it out. You can also use a little piece of paper in the fence block

behind the fence itself.

The M8 axle of the blade height adjustment is moved to the bottom of the enclosure,

which was mandatory. The crank cannot spin unless to put the saw on the edge of a

table.

NOTE:

Although i'm albe to cut wood just fine with the 80W motor, it is still a bit weak

and need to slow down often when feeding stock material.

Choose a stronger motor if you can
