PDF

Filament spool mount for 3" T-slot slatwall systems, such as NewAge slatwall system, or Gladiator slatwall system.

Features

  • All parts print with no supports
  • Can be used for spool storage or for printing
  • When printing, the filament unwinds smoothly - about as smoothly as the filament arm bundled with Prusa printers
  • Parametric spool width, fits Prusament by default
  • Easy to move/remove on slatwall

Assembly

  • Screw the “Arm” into the “Slatwall Mount” using 2 x M4 hex nuts and 2 x M4 10mm screws
  • Screw the threaded “Filament Spool” into the “Arm” by hand
  • Hang the assembled spool mount to the wall by slotting it into the slats. Once aligned it should gently drop into the slots and have a tight fit.

Filament Spool Widths

The STLs for the “Slatwall Mount” and “Filament Spool” parts assume you are using a 70mm wide spool, which is the width of a Prusament spool.

If you are using a spool of a different width, you can change this by editing the parameter in the Fusion 360 file. For example, most Amazon Basics spools are 76mm wide, so you can change the “SpoolWidth” parameter to 76mm.

Let me know if there's interest for me to generate new STLs for various spool sizes.

Print Instructions

I printed in Prusament Jet Black PETG on a Prusa MK3S+ with a 0.4mm nozzle using the "0.30mm Draft" profile with no supports.

  • The “Arm” part should be printed flat-side down on the bed
  • The “Filament Spool” part should be printed vertically, the the threaded part at the top
  • The “Slatwall Mount” part should be printed vertically, with the screw holes closest to the bottom.
