A couple of days ago I suddenly needed a box for an electronics project. And while there are already quite a few designs here on Thingiverse, none was exactly what I was looking for. In the end I settled for thing:3406724 by JB86. It printed quite well and serves its purpose, but I decided to make my own design for my next projects. This resulted today in this little library module.
The box is defined basically by its inside dimensions and the thickness of the walls. The latter is also used as a parameter to round off the edges. The lower and upper part of a box are meant to be configured individually, optimized to be used with an overlapping seam.
Mounting studs and drill holes on the base XY-plane can be configured using arrays of coordinates and parameters. All parameters are explained in the following drawing. There is also an example of a small box provided. Since the box itself is defined as a module, more holes and cutouts can be just made by using differences.
