Box with a Secret Magnetic Lock!

Hi, this is a simple box that holds a secret: A super slim magnetic activated lock inside to securely store your valuables. The lid won’t open unless you have the magnetic key!

The mechanism is quite simple: Magnets will attract and release the lid by bending the lock. The lock will return to its original position based on PLA flexibility and memory:

Use neodymium magnets for better performance. In this case I used a 12mm x 2.7 mm.

For the key I already had from https://www.printables.com/model/1237-magnetic-beehive-key-holder, but any reasonable strong magnet will work.

Note: No matter what magnets you use check polarity before assembly.

There's a cover for the lock mechanism to isolate it from the things you store.

For the hinges just use a piece of filament:

and cut the excess. Easy to replace if needed.

Total Print Time will be around 16hs.
