My twist on the bolt and nut puzzle container. Fun puzzle and very challenging!

Put somthing in it, that makes a noise and give it to somebody to solve. watch how their mind melts!

If you want an even more difficult puzzle, print the low tolerance nut.

Printing Tips

Print the bolt and nut twice (maybe in different colours).

Use at least 4 perimeters for the bolt, since the shaft sections can snap-off if handled without care. Print with 10% infill for the bolt head. Turn off “ensure vertical shell thickness”.

Assembly Tips

There are three possible setups for this puzzle, ranging from easy to advanced to hard (my rating so dont take it to seriously).

The nuts have a direction. They can slide on one bolt and only screw on the other. This can be reversed by flipping the nut.

Easy setup

Each nut slides in the same direction as the bolt.

  • Screw each nut on one bolt close to the bolt head. Make sure they cant slide on the bolt they are screwed on.
  • Align the nuts so, that the second bolt can slide trough. and put both halfs together.
  • Scramble the nuts a bit.

Advanced setup

Both nuts screw on the same bolt and slide on the other bolt.

  • Screw both nuts on the same bolt. Make sure they can not slide on that bolt.
  • Align the nuts in a way that the secont bolt can slide through both nuts, and close the puzzle.
  • Scramble the nuts.

Hard setup

Each nut slides in the oposit direction one instinctivly pulls the puzzle.

  • SLIDE each nut on one of the bolts, close to the bolt head.
  • Put the two peaces togeter and advance both nuts on the oposite bolt to the center.
  • Align the nuts so, that you can close the puzzle.
  • Scramble the nuts.
