Note: Several of my designs for my CNC plasma rig are available here for free.
For when using 1/2" EMT or 3/4" EMT (electrical conduit from home improvement stores) in projects such as the LowRider v3 CNC, these end caps protect against snags and scrapes.
Be aware that if you use a tubing cutter as I did (I use one similar to this: https://amzn.to/3JwBwux ) it results in a sharp burr on the inside of the EMT tube. That causes two issues: (1) the burr is a risk for cutting someone, and (2) it reduces the inside diameter, which affects getting a tight fit when adding a cap like this. Both the sharpness and diameter reduction can be helped some by use of a deburring tool (like this one I ordered: https://amzn.to/4d8tMMF ). The possibility of a burr means that the odds are this part won't be a perfect fit without some scaling, which is why I say… This can be scaled a bit as needed in your slicer to get a tight fit. Mine fits tight just as it is. Also, a bit of painters tape around the stub can help tighten a loose fit.
Prints with no supports. PLA. Quick print. For me about 9 minutes each. Enjoy!
