Celestron PowerSeeker 70EQ Dovetail Clamp

Description

This is a Vixen dovetail clamp for the Celestron PowerSeeker 70EQ. It can be used to attach accessories, such as a cell phone tray, to the telescope. Attachment to the telescope is done via the tube ring's camera mount. The telescope's existing camera locking ring is used to help secure the clamp in place.

Required Hardware (one each of the following)

• M6 x 70mm hex head bolt
• M6 wing nut
• 1/4 inch x 1/2 inch socket head bolt

Assembly & Installation

• insert the M6 x 70mm bolt through clamp part 1 via the hex-shaped recess
• press the bolt's hex head into the hex-shaped recess until it is flush (this is a tight fit and will be completed in a later step)
• remove the locking ring from the camera mount
• press the round hole of clamp part 1 onto the camera mount
• loosely re-attach the locking ring onto the camera mount
• insert the 1/4 inch x 1/2 inch socket head bolt through the slotted hole of clamp part 1 and thread it into tube ring
• firmly tighten (do not over tighten) both the locking ring and the socket head bolt
• slide clamp part 2 onto the M6 x 70mm bolt, making sure the alignment pins of clamp part 1 insert into the alignment holes of clamp part 2
• attach the M6 wing nut to the M6 x 70mm bolt
• tighten the wing nut until the hex head of the M6 x 70mm bolt is completely pressed into the hex-shaped recess
• loosen the wing nut to permit attaching a dovetail
