I like building lifepo4 batteries; one of the easier to find types of cells I've used are these 25Ah lifepo4 cells that I picked up from batteryhookup.com (they have had them from time to time).

These brackets do a few things:

  • Provide fixed spacing between cells to allow for some swelling
  • Keep them positioned together
  • Provide protection for the terminals
  • Look nice

I then added a “lid” which can hold the BMS and has holes to put wires through; I think it turned out pretty nice, so I decided to share. The source fusion360 files are included, including the ones I used to mill busbars from aluminum stock.

Hopefully either this will be useful to someone or at least may help inspire your own adaptation! While I wanted to come up with a good way to use fasteners to connect them I ended up just using tape to hold the cells together and the lid on.

Note that supports are needed for the top piece and for the lid
