Wanted to add a GoPro mount to my Chiron, but just copying something was not as satisfying as expected...

and designed this rod in Fusion360 - consists of 2 parts:

  • fixation bracket
  • extension rod

The bracket can be fixed by a M4 screw to the Chiron heated bed to avoid dropping of when moved. The rod is fixed using another M4 screw (all metric!) on the bottom.

Everything should fit quite well and should not have any wobbling or space between the parts.

Use the standard connection items supplied with the GoPro - or equivalent - to mount any extension or further rods.

Why for small prints only?

Well, the rod needs to be massively extended to fit the 450mm build height of the Chiron - so this is something for the next design... ;)

Update 30/05/2019:

Figured out fixing the cam shaft with 1 hand is a pain in the ass since the screws of the shaft simply turn when trying to fix them... added screw support in the "better rod" :)

Notes:

Printed both parts in ABS to resist the heat when getting higher temperatures on the bed - by now tested with 75u00b0C when printing PETG and works quite well :)

Post-Printing =============

Try the M4 Screw hole...

both parts feature a directly modeled M4 thread to directly apply a M4 screw (used a M4x10) - so try it out before heading to the Chiron.
