This is a cross section model of human skin. It separates into three layers: the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. This model can be used for educating children about the layer of skin, especially in the context of burn treatment and topical procedures.
You will need tan, pink and yellow filament, but blue, red and black filament can be used for the blood vessels and hair if you don't want to paint. There are two versions of the hypodermis layer, one with with blood vessels attached, and one with holes for the separate blood vessels to glue into. Using Prusa slicer, you'll want to split the dermis two print on two flat sides. i suggest printing the single hair at a slight angle with organic supports.
I used dollar tree nail polish to paint the blood vessels and most of the hairs; nail polish sticks well to PLA, drys hard, and is resistant to most cleaning supplies including hospital grade sanitizing wipes.
additional details such as sweat glands, nerves and smaller blood vessels can be painted on.
The front hair follicle can be loose, or glued onto the dermis layer.
