HP DL380 power supply conversion

Recycle an old HP DL380 G2 server power supply into a bench/hobby power supply.

Instructions

After modifying your recycled power supply to be always on, just print, wire up female bullet jacks, and you have a tidy looking 12V 32A power supply. Hold the 4mm bullet females in with set screws or hot glue.

My 4mm connectors had an outside dimension of 5mm w/ a 5.5mm shoulder.

I've created an additional version for people with 4.75mm connectors without a shoulder(much more common)

4mm M/F sets are available at any online or local R/C hobby store

Both version have an outer lip that should retain the outer edge of any 4mm connector.

Keep wire length to a minimum to avoid fan contact.

Fits HP DL380 Generation 2(ESP113) possibly others.
