Lenovo Thinkcentre M710t has M.2 NVME port which is on edge of motherboard so if you want to add SSD to it, you have to buy mounting kit which is piece of plastics which snaps to case and provides single screwhole for your SSD.

I didn't had time, nor wish to give my money to Lenovo for this since I bought my Thinkcentre M710t from e-bay for very reasonable price and this mounting kit woud cost roughly same as whole PC. So, here we are.

How to get it done:

  • buy square M3 nut and M3 screw. Lenght of screw doesn't really matter but it should be somewhere between 10-20 mm long.
  • print this mounting kit from something remotely heat resistant - I used PETG. PLA is not really suitable because your SSD will be sitting very close to it and it can get fairly warm so you need something what withstand 90°C without loss of shape. Just to be sure.
  • Push square nut into slot
  • Snap this holder into case
  • Insert SSD - be careful for static discharge
  • Screw your screw
  • Boot-up!

Recomended printing setting:

  • 0.4 nozzle - wider will have issue with snap points, slimer will have issues with robustness but it's you call
  • 2 perimeters should be fine
  • top/bottom thickness doesn't really matter
  • orientation is on picture, this way you don't need supports
