Re-design on XY top frame to match the X-Carriage for the Hypercube Evolution, but to re-use the existing 8mm rods, aluminum frame, 8mm linear bearings and not sacrifice any build volume.
Also wanted to keep the belts parallel or perpendicular from all touch points, so all the pulleys were replaced with GT2 idlers with the same tooth count as the ones on the stepper motors. In my install I decided to switch them all to GT2 16 teeth count, but GT2 20 teeth will still work.
The existing rods are long enough for this upgrade, but I noticed some marks on my original rods and replaced them with some slightly longer ones I had from a previous build. I also needed new belts as the original ones were very tight and difficult to install on the new X Carriage.
Some parts do require supports for printing and also uses heatset 3mm nuts and standard 3mm hex nuts.
There are (2) X-carriage models. One uses pins and a single screw on the back side exactly like the Hypercube Evolution build. The other uses 4 heatset 3mm nuts instead of the pins, which I prefer to have screws bolted on front and back (although when I include my X-endstop, I can only use 2 front and 1 rear screw)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
