The BIG DADDY opens to approx. 140mm wide and closes as small as approx. 46mm.
The BIG DADDY does not sag when fully open, with a 3kg+ weight resting on the chassis.
The BIG DADDY chassis prints flat, without supports. Get those depositon layers in the right position.
The BIG DADDY is here to help.
Hardware needed:
- 8 qty. of M3x22 countersink screws (https://www.mcmaster.com/screws/metric-alloy-steel-hex-drive-flat-head-screws/)
- 8 qty. of M3 nuts (https://www.mcmaster.com/nuts/thread-size~m3/metric-medium-strength-steel-hex-nuts-class-8/)
- 4 qty. of 608ZZ bearings (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07216D1SZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Tips:
- Print the threaded shaft and capture ring upright. The two body halves are printed flat, as well as the four bearing locks.
- Printed in PETG, but I have printed in others like PC Blend with no issues.
- It helps to glue the rails into the corresponding slots on the flat body.
If there is much feedback, Ill post updates and such. Thanks!
EDIT:
added an additional 15mm to the rails to accommodate Prusa 2KG spools, total of 140mm wide now.
