I love the Maker Box that I get every other month. With this being said I'm bummed the samples are not spooled up ready to print, but I get it :p
Here is a link if you have not heard of them https://www.makerbox.me/
I decided to make spools that would be wide enough you won't have to fight much with the samples to get them spooled up for use.
Since you get 4 filaments in the monthly and 9 filaments in the Bi-monthly. I wanted to make sure I had all the PLA's with different colors out and ready to be swapped. This way I can make multi color prints with less hassle.
A plus to these spools as well is that they are stackable. You can have them individual or multiple snapped into each other. Image all 9 filament samples together on one SUPER SPOOL!! haha XD
I digress, I have made some holes for keeping the filament taught (likeatiger XD) at all times. No need for a clip.
Hope you like it, for all the Maker Box people looking for those multi color prints just think 3 PLA colors attached to each other ready to be swapped mid print. So much easier to try all the samples.
I made a random test cube putting a bunch of filaments together using my sample spools and normal spool holder. You can check that out along with more images of prints i have been working on at www.instagram.com\bthre3d.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
