Update V2:
Revised this on July of 2023 to accommodate the included clip as the BTR5 is a slippery device by itself and QOL improvements! The design is now screw-less and is simply friction fit so you might need some taps with a rubber mallet! Edges have been fillet to eliminate sharp corners and added cavities/pits for adding weights.
And of course you can remix it in Onshape here
Change list:
- Now screw-less!
- Now accommodates the included FiiO BTR5 clip
- Added fillet on sharp edges
- Added cavities/pits to add weight
Parts List for V2:
- x1 Male & Female Right Angle USB C Adapter (Get it here and pick style B: https://www.ebay.com/itm/295507316103)
- Optional:
- Anything thing to add weight.
- I used steel slingshot pellets/ball/ammo that I strangely have lying around.
- Hot glue
- For securing the weights from slipping through the cracks.
- And for adhering the two half together if the friction fit pegs doesn't work out for you.
Assembly:
- If you do not have weights then skip to step 2. If you do then continue below:
- Add your weights into the cavities/pits.
- Glue it down and wait for glue to solidify/harden/bond.
- Add the right angle USB C adapter to the Lower Half.3mf part.
- Note: You could glue it down but I recommend against this as the looseness compensates for any errors in your print.
- Snap the two halves together.
- You might need a little elbow grease or some persuasion with a rubber mallet.
V1:
Back in late March 2022, I was looking for an dock for my BTR5 to hold it upright on my desk and to my surprise, no one has designed one! So I took my caliper and some low level CAD skills then created this!
Note:
The pictures I posted here is an earlier version. I have made some slight improvements in the uploaded models.
Created on Onshape, remix it here!
