UPDATE:
Updated the FanMount.stl to include fins in the air path. This vastly improves heatbreak cooling and even drops the noise level due to reduced turbulence in the air path.
Designed a Mount for the Slice engineering Mosquito/Mellow NF-Crazy hotend.
It includes a 4020 fan for the hotend cooling and a 5015 fan for the parts cooling fan. The whole thing is a drop-in replacement for the stock hotend.
It also supports a BLTouch.
BLTouch offsets: X-28 Y0
- Print in PETG or ABS. Flame retardant material recommended.
- Make sure you buy a 5015 radial fan with at least 0.1A for sufficient part cooling.
- I used a Sunon 4020 24V 0.84W fan for hotend cooling but it makes the printer much louder. I will connect it to a stepdown converter to lower the RPM.
The cooling shroud is based on Stefan's CNC kitchen V6 mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3972199).
Hardware required:
- 1x 4020 24V fan
- 1x 5015 24V fan
- 1x Stock thermistor and heating cartridge
- 1x Grove mount adapter for the Mosquito
Screws:
- 3x stock M4 mounting screws or 3x M4x6mm
- 4x M4x30mm
- 2x M4x20mm
- 2x M3x8mm
- 2x M2.5x8-10mm
- Mounting hardware for the BLTouch that comes with it.
Things in the works:
- 4020 fan guard
- 4010 fan support and guard
