Phone Car Vent Holder to Tripod Mount

Updated! This version doesn't need glue.

Crude-but-did-the-job tripod socket based on a cheap surplus car vent phone mount.

You will need:

• a swivel / ball joint car vent phone adapter. I picked up an "Aduro Products Swivel Clip Luxe" for about $7 from Princess Auto
• a ¼" – 20 4-lobed T-nut

The mount I used had a ball joint 16.9 mm in diameter. I don't know if this is universal or specific to this model.

Further update: another surplus vent mount I bought had exactly the same size of ball joint, so maybe a 16.9 mm / ⅔" ball joint is a thing.
