Purchased a Delta table saw from my LHS and although the throat plate that comes standard works, it lets a LOT of dust and debris through. So, instead of plunking down big bucks for a replacement I simply made my own. And it worked! Shocked! Yeah, me too!
I broke this down into two parts because of the side. A little epoxy and it's good to go! I also beefed up this version from the original and added a thumb hole. As of yet I don't have holes for the adjustment screws, simply because I didn't need them yet.
I used PLA with a rough .35 resolution and a 25% infill.
NOTE: This NOT for angled cuts! Use caution when using, this has worked for me without issue but your mileage may vary.
This and a little cardboard insert that sits right underneath the plate has GREATLY reduced all the man-glitter that used to accumulate underneath my saw.
I lowered the blade, replaced the plate, started the saw and then slowly raised the blade with a piece of scrape plywood holding everything down. Once the blade was raised all the way up everything worked as normal.
Like my design, how about a cup of coffee?
