All you need is a couple of M3 screws, a couple of heat-set inserts, and tool to poke a couple of appropriately spaced holes, and you can add a carabiner hook, camera-mount plate, or Velcro strap (or anything you can imagine?) to your backpack, laptop bag, or camera bag.  Any bag.

It is a bit cooler if you print the templates, get yourself a 3mm leather punch and four 10x3mm magnets.  Then you can use the alignment jig and a hammer to tap nice, clean holes in exactly the right place.

So far, I have tested the camera plate on an old backpack, and it had no problem lifting 42 pounds.  I will have to rig up something much more complicated to do a proper durability test, but I am confident that it will hold up your water bottle.

You can get a little kit with the correct leather punch, four magnets, and rubber bumpers to use with your no-sew template from my Tindie store.
