This camera grip is designed for Nikon SLR film cameras. Confirmed to fit:

Nikon FE
Nikon FE2
Nikon FM
Nikon FM2N

(More to be tested)

Through many MANY iterations and changes, here are the final features of The Printed Grip:

  • Improved ergonomics and hand stamina
  • Does not obstruct the Self-Timer/Depth-of-Field preview
  • Does not obstruct the camera strap
  • Support for traditional 1/4" tripod mounting
  • Support for Arca-Swiss style tripod mounting

(if printed using the recommended ASA+CF filament)

  • Provides extra support and stability while weighing under 60g
  • Stiff, strong, and resistant to heat (up to 93C/200F)

WHAT YOU NEED

Printing:

I strongly recommend a reinforced filament that won't soften in the sun. I settled on 3DX Tech's ASA+Carbon Fiber because it is fantastically stiff and has great layer adhesion.

(PETG is too flexible. PLA+ Might be okay in cooler climates.)

I also increase perimeters and create a custom area of the print that has 100% infill to reinforce the portion of the model observed to receive the bulk of the load (see the .3MF file for examples of print settings).

I have yet to break one of these things through normal use!! WOOT!

Extras:

This print requires a few extra things to function properly. I use a 1/4th inch D-ring to secure the grip to the camera base and a 1/4th inch to 3/8th inch reducer for the standard tripod mount (just glue it into place).

I hope you guys love this model and are able to get some fantastic shots!!!
