Desk clamp bin

This is a small bin that you can clamp to your desk to clean the dirt from your workspace. It is a fully 3D printed design, made of 5 parts:

1. Bin body
2. Clamp
3. Screw
4. Nut
5. Brush

This design was inspired by the one featured in Yanko Design. 

Our print settings for the brush are the ones recommended by 3dprintbunny who makes incredible string art pieces with 3D printing, like this one.

Printing details

All the parts can be printed in PLA. However, the brush will work better and last longer if you use a more flexible material, like PETG. 

We printed everything with a 0.4 mm nozzle, without supports.

For the bin parts, you can use any layer height you prefer. We used 0.25 mm layer height.

For the brush instead, you have to use a layer height of 0.3 mm, and make sure there is no XY compensation enabled (also elephant foot compensation must be disabled).  If you are using PrusaSlicer, make sure that:

• Print Settings/Layers and perimeter/Quality/Detect thin walls is enabled
• Print Settings/Advanced/Slicing/
  • XY compensation is disabled
  • Elephant foot compensation is disabled
• Printer settings/Extruder/Wipe while retracting is disabled.

The brush will have a sacrificial part that you need to cut using a sharp blade.

We have included two bin sizes, a small one with an opening of 30 millimeters and a larger one that can open up to 60 mm to be clamped on a thicker workbench.
