Adapted the ever popular spool roller by mjoaris to fit on the EMT Conduit frame. I currently have it front mounted for ease of pictures but should be flipped around to the back for tall prints. Wanted it to be snap fit but needs 6 perimeter walls to hold a full spool safely. However, 6 walls doesn't bend easy. I need to print 3 more anyway (to run dual spools on two emt8 printers) so I'll try to get it a little more snap-fit friendly.

Secured with self tapping screw. Tilt bracket backward slightly to counter sag from the weight of a full spool. High walls also helps combat this issue. That's a lot of weight hanging off there!

This roller solves the issue of the extruder having to tug on filament to get it off the spool and all the issues that are related to that. Some people go to the extreme of adding a 2nd stepper as an extruder primer or feeder but that just isn't necessary. No spool is perfectly round so my setup at least has a "cam" action. I notice that the tension of the filament twist alone is enough to rotate the spool a full turn at a time as well as keep tension on the roll so it doesn't unwind and tangle. Idk how to explain it, just that it was a bit alarming at first hearing the spool roll over (especially my broken lopsided master spool)

Requires two skateboard bearings and a self tapping screw.
