After using a few sub-$100 usb c docks with my MacBook Pro (M1), I could not for the life of me get them to work correctly. I always had to plug / unplug multiple times, etc to get my external monitor to display anything.
I don't wanna spend $400 on a legit dock, so lets turn two cables into one, and just handle the external display separately via a usb-c to DP cable.
This is super simple and specific to my cables / my computers USB port spacing, so you should probs just make your own, but maybe this will give folks ideas idk.
